Track List

The track list is displayed when you click the Tracks button on the summary page.

The page displays a list of the tracks which have been recorded to the local database, with the most recent track first. It shows the time the track was created together with the number of locations recorded in the track.

One or more tracks can be exported in GPX file format. This format can be imported into other software applications that recognise this format, e.g. TripServer can be used to import the file and display it on a map.

Since version v1.8.0, there is also a ‘View on Map’ option on the share sheet, which shows the selected tracks on Apple Maps. If local logging is active when the map is displayed, a track on the map is updated as new locations are added.

Export

Click the action (share) icon at the top right of the page to export the tracks. You can select individual tracks to export by clicking on them. If you click the action icon without selecting any tracks, all the tracks are included in the export.

Each track in the list that is exported is included in the GPX file as a separate track segment. Some software will treat the entire collection of track segments as a single continuous track, whilst others will handle them as separate segments. A test run sort out whether you should export each track in a separate file or whether the software you are importing the tracks to can handle the separate segments individually.

To delete tracks, you can either swipe left or click the Edit button at the top right of the page, then click on the delete icon to the left of the track to delete, followed by a confirmation click on the Delete button to the right of the track.

Returning to the summary page clears any track selections.

The exported track is named based on the time that it was saved, not necessarily on any of the times in the exported track segments.

Uninstalling TripLogger Remote

Uninstalling the app deletes all the data belonging to the app, including these local track records.

If the tracks are important to you, export them as a file and save them as a file in iCloud or another safe location.

There is no facility to re-import the tracks into TripLogger Remote. It is expected that they are exported for use in other applications shortly after their creation.
